GWAZAE JANUARY NEWSLETTER
By Sven Furstenberg

Happy New Year and Welcome to the first GWAZAE Newsletter in 2008! We hope that you had a few good days over the Christmas break and a good start on the new year. This month’s newsletter is of highly informative character as you will see and we will try keeping it this way. It’s a new year and we decided to start it with a new look on the website, making more information available to prospective and existing users of the GWAZAE. Don’t forget studying the news section to read about recent case studies reported back to GWAZAE by some of our existing users. And hopefully…, if you are located in the United Kingdom and Europe, you are getting ready for Harrogate Week!

New GWAZAE Website! As you possibly may already have noticed there has been a fair bit of activity on the GWAZAE website lately. You will find a new website with a fresher look, new photos and updated content. Among the new items is also a ‘News’ section that has informative case studies for audience at present and to come. A whole new photo gallery is also added which shows the GWAZAE in some of its applications. To check it out go to www.gwazae.co.nz or click here…

GWAZAE Users in the Field!

An Introduction to some of the success stories and opportunities to owning or using a GWAZAE machine

We have been talking to a few users and owners of the GWAZAE machine and asked them to report about their successes with the machine.

Read about Jeff and Dean in New Zealand, Matt in Australia and about Underbusters Limited, Premier Pitches, Pure Turf Contracts in the United Kingdom. We have included a few extracts below, but to read it all you can go here.

Premier Pitches – United Kingdom
Jonathan Woolford of Premier Pitches sees unlimited opportunities with the GWAZAE. Read about some of his success and about Leeds Rugby Club, which grounds they aerated six weeks before the 2007 floods. “The impact of the GWAZAE on drainage was immediate”, Jon says, “and withstood the soaking delivered in the heavy rains.” Click here fore more…

Underbuster Limited – United Kingdom
Underbuster Limited is based in Herefordshire U.K. and serves The Midlands, The West Midlands, Wales & West Country. Tony Brazier says in long time orchard areas trafficking over many years has created hard subsoil pans formed by wheelings. The Gwazae breaks those pans up and delivers better aeration through the profile with no root damage. Tony bought the Gwazae in partnership with Lower Hope Farm, partially because the owners recognized the problem with compacted cherry tree roots, and the Gwazae was a solution. “This year the farm won the supreme award for its cherries, and we are sure the work with the Gwazae helped.” Click here fore more…

Pure Turf Contracts – United Kingdom
When Barry Pace demonstrates his Gwazae ground aerator to potential clients their first few words can usually include a few unprintable expletives. The machine’s capacity to inject up to 120psi of air into the soil surface brings earth-shattering movement in the soil as impressive above ground as it is effective below. Barry says it causes groundsman and green keepers to jump at the same time the earth moves beneath them. Read how Barry uses the GWAZAE to rejuvenate soil profiles, breaking of sub soil pans and how he resuscitated a training pitch at the Croydon Athletic Football Club. Click here fore more…

MT Aeration - Australia
No one in Australia wants or welcomes the drought and its effect on farmland, parks and daily living. For Matt Cornford of Kyneton, Victoria, the purchase of a Gwazae Ground Probe Aerator means he has gained something positive from the drought’s ongoing impact in his region. “There is a need there to break up the surface to get water to the roots. Given most places have water restrictions they need to make the most of what water they get.” To read how Matt aims to defeat salinity problems and saving ornamental trees click here for more…

CityCare – Tauranga, New Zealand
Jeff Stevens of Citycare’s Park Division in Tauranga, New Zealand tried the machine on some of his problem pitches during September and August and was impressed to see that his Blake Park, Rugby 1 field after a 50mm down-poor was draining within hours to a degree it had never done before. Click here fore more…

Renner Park Golf – Oropi, Tauranga, New Zealand
An old rubbish dump site overlain with sticky white clay and the remains of a swamp doesn’t make a green keeper’s job any easier to establish a good golf course. Coming to Renner Park Golf, a nine-hole fee paying course that caters largely to weekend amateurs and social players, from the more genteel nature of a well established course in the UK Cotswolds, Dean could see the great opportunity and challenge to develop an interesting course almost from scratch. Read about how GWAZAE impressed a usually not so easily impressible golf course superintendant. Click here fore more…
